OverviewASAP
ELA is made up of three components: 1. Assessment:
Consists of ten multiple choice tests and one practical test of technology
competency, based on ten dimensions of educational leadership.
Program
Outcomes: As a Principal Candidate Selection Tool - Determines
the promotional readiness of candidates for a school principalship position
- Independent,
objective assessment of each participant's strengths and improvement needs in
skills identified as critical for success in the principalship
- Enables
participants to more readily accept selection and promotion decisions
As
a Professional Development Guide - Provides each participant with
accurate information about his/her leadership strengths and improvement needs
that can be used to assist in planning career goals and professional self-development
activities
- Provides data for planning professional development of school
leaders in a district or region
- Develops the ability of assessors to conduct
coaching and feedback sessions and performance appraisals
- Feedback from
the assessment allows districts to measure participants against others in the
district as well as others across the nation.
Test questions probe
candidate leadership theory knowledge and application of knowledge to practical
questions. These tests can be used along with other professional development tools
that you typically implement when considering leadership potential of staff. 2.
Participant's Result Package: Includes comprehensive graphs comparing their
results with their own cohort and the national average while providing a list
of dimensions of mastery and challenge with comprehensive explanations and resources
for the areas needed. 3. Professional Development Administration
